FAQs

Getting Started with HydrofoilingThe sport, equipment, conditions & progression

  • Hydrofoiling uses a foil mounted onto a board to lift you above water at speed, reducing drag and creating a smooth flying sensation. It’s like surfing meets flight.

  • Your setup depends on your goals — wing, prone, tow, or eFoil. Many foil systems are modular and compatible across sports, and we’ll help you pick the right one.

  • Most riders get their first flights in 1–3 sessions. It’s easier than it looks, especially with the right gear and coaching. Balance and ordination matters more than brute strength.

  • Foiling is low-impact and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. We coach kids, adults, and even 70+ riders — no gym body required, just water confidence.

  • We provide everything: foil board, wings, helmet, vest, wetsuit (optional), and radio helmets. You just bring swimwear and stoke.

  • Foiling works in all kinds of conditions. For beginners, calm bays or lakes are best. Some foils use wind, others tow — we’ll match the spot to the day.

  • Speeds vary by style: 15–30 km/h is average. eFoils and tow setups go faster, but you’ll feel speed with minimal effort. The current Wing Foil Speed Record is just below 75km/h.

  • Group sessions start at $249, private coaching from $399. All gear is included, and multi-session packs are available.
