Kids & Teens Watersports Holiday Camps in Sydney – Wingfoil, SUP & Fun

Give your kids a school holiday they’ll never forget. Wingfoil, SUP, kayaks and safe fun on the water at Hydrofoil Academy’s kids & teens holiday camps in Sydney.

Kids & Teens Watersports Holiday Camps in Sydney

School holidays don’t have to mean another week stuck on screens. At Hydrofoil Academy, our kids & teens watersports holiday camps in Sydney are all about getting young people active, confident and stoked to be outside – safely.

Based on the Northern Beaches and Eastern Suburbs, we combine wingfoil, SUP, kayaks and on-water games into full, structured days that are supervised, fun and tailored to different ages and levels.

Why a Watersports Holiday Camp Beats Another Week on Screens

Modern school holidays can disappear into YouTube, games and group chats. A few days on the water can reset everything.

  1. Confidence & independence: Kids learn to move in a new environment, read the wind and water, and problem-solve in real time.
  2. Real-world socialising: No algorithms, just new friends, shared laughs and teamwork.
  3. Movement & coordination: Balancing on boards, paddling, steering wings – it all builds strength, coordination and body awareness.
  4. Connection with the ocean: They don’t just visit the beach; they play in it, learn in it, and respect it.

For many of our young riders, camp days are the highlight of the year.

What Kids & Teens Do at Our Holiday Camps

Every camp is slightly different depending on conditions and group level, but you can expect a mix of:

Intro to Wingfoil and “Flying Above the Water”

For water-confident kids and teens, we offer:

  1. On-land wing practice: Learning how to hold, power and de-power the wing safely.
  2. Stable boards & big foils: Designed so young riders can feel lift in a controlled, safe way as they progress.
  3. Progress is always gradual – from basic balance to first small flights for those ready.

SUP, Kayaks & Lagoon Exploration

Not every minute needs to be high-intensity.

  1. SUP sessions to build balance and comfort standing on a board.
  2. Kayak adventures exploring the lagoon or bay, depending on location.
  3. Simple games on the water to keep things fun and relaxed.

Games, Teamwork & Beach Time

We rotate between:

  1. Team challenges that build trust and communication.
  2. Beach breaks for snacks, sunscreen and chill time.
  3. Short, focused learning blocks so kids don’t burn out.

Safety, Supervision & Ratios – How We Look After Your Kids

Safety is non-negotiable. We’re not just “wingfoil instructors” – we run structured sessions with clear risk management.

  1. Qualified coaches: Experienced watersports instructors, not casual beach staff.
  2. Small groups: We keep coach-to-rider ratios low so your child gets attention and support.
  3. Lifejackets & equipment: Buoyancy vests, helmets where appropriate, and age/size-matched gear.
  4. Conditions first: We choose locations and times based on wind, tide and visibility. If the conditions aren’t suitable, we adapt the program rather than forcing it.

You’ll know exactly where your child is, what they’re doing and who’s supervising them.

Ideal Age Groups, Levels & Who These Camps Are For

Our camps are ideal for:

  1. Kids & teens who are water-confident (comfortable in the ocean or lagoon, basic swimming ability).
  2. Ages typically from 8–16, grouped by age and level where possible.
  3. Beginners through to young riders who already surf, skate, sail or foil and want to add a new skill.

If you’re unsure if your child is ready, reach out – we’ll give you an honest answer and suggest the best session or camp type.

What to Bring & How to Prepare for Camp

To keep your child comfortable all day, we recommend packing:

  1. Wetsuit (we can often help if they don’t have one – just ask).
  2. Swimwear, towel and a warm change of clothes.
  3. Sun protection: hat, zinc/sunscreen, long sleeve rashie.
  4. Plenty of water and snacks/lunch (or follow the specific camp info).
  5. Any medication they may need, clearly labelled and noted at check-in.

We’ll communicate exact logistics (drop-off, pick-up, weather updates) well before the camp starts.

Dates, Locations, Pricing & How to Book

We typically run kids & teens holiday camps at:

  1. Narrabeen – ideal for lagoon-based sessions and beginner-friendly conditions.
  2. Rose Bay / Eastern Suburbs – great for wing-friendly days and harbour views.

Spots are limited to keep groups safe and manageable, and school holiday weeks book out fast.
